Donate to support Japan Emergency Relief Efforts
|
Many people must now surely want to help with relief efforts in Japan for survivors of the unprecedented earthquake and tsunami of March 11, and now nuclear radiation. Peace Boat US expresses its deepest condolences to all those affected.
Our affiliate organisation in Japan, Peace Boat, is a well recognized and experienced organization of young people that works to promote peace, human rights, equal and sustainable development and respect for the environment. Peace Boat also has extensive experience in disaster relief, including following the earthquakes in Kobe and Niigata (Japan), and natural disasters in Sumatra, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Orleans and more. They have already sent one advance team to the affected areas to do a needs assessment. Peace Boat plans to also send volunteers to assist in rebuilding the lives of those affected. Details of the ongoing relief efforts will be published on Peace Boat's home page (www.peaceboat.org) and a bilingual Facebook page "Peace Boat Tohoku Kanto Earthquake Emergency Relief"
Your tax deductible donation will support the needs of women, men and children who are without homes, who are missing family members, who have nowhere to go. Government supplies and aid from huge international organizations leaves many gaps. Peace Boat is going to help fill those gaps. They know the area, they are Japanese, and they are dedicated to helping at the community level. Your donation to Peace Boat US will buy supplies identified by the people who will use them.
