We are pleased to announce that Peace Boat is hosting over 20 participants for this year’s Global University Program, coming from several countries in Asia, as well as from the United States. The program starts on August 19, in Yokohama (Japan) and ends on September 9, in Mumbai (India).

The Global University will take place onboard the Peace Boat’s 88th Global Voyage for three weeks, focusing on the themes of Human Security and Common Security. Throughout the program, students will engage in dynamic and interactive learning, combining onboard seminars with exposure programs in Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and India.

Throughout the course of the program, selected guest educators will facilitate students’ learning. For the upcoming Global University, we are honored to have Kim Kyoungmook; Professor of Peace Studies at Chukyo University in Japan, Mallika Joseph; Director of the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies in India, and Lalita Ramdas; peace, human rights, and anti-nuclear educator and activist, as the main educators.

Peace Boat’s Global University partners with various universities across the world. This year, students from the University of Tokyo (Japan), Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (Japan), China Foreign Affairs University (China), and Hanshin University (South Korea) will join the program. The exposure program in Japan will be organised with the support of Meijigakuin University (Japan) and in Singapore with Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Singapore).
